This is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ). We are seeking a solo-entrepreneur, freelancer, and/or aspiring small business owner who has a background in food, marketing, hospitality, and sales. You are someone who is passionate about truly effectuating change in our food supply system on a local and regional level, and are looking for a long term contract that has growth potential for your own career.

We are now seeking values-aligned individuals in our target metro areas to build a cohort of Cureators across the nation, and you have the potential to be a part of co-creating that community at the ground level.

The Wash/Balt Cureator will work directly with the Cureate HQ team on the following deliverables:

You are the local buyer for our institutional foodservice accounts. It is your responsibility to find, vet, and source local vendors to meet the demand needs of our Buyer partner accounts and effectively shift the dollar back into our local communities. At the time of this posting, the Wash/Balt Cureator would oversee 5 medical systems and 2 convention center accounts with opportunity for growth.

  • Manage the buying and delivery process of goods or services on behalf of Cureate and our buyer partners, such as: hospitals, convention centers, corporate cafeterias

  • Drive sales through active and engaging account management

  • Use Cureate Connect, our proprietary procurement platform, to manage sales, products, vendors and buyers

  • Issue weekly purchase orders to track delivery of goods and effectively track sales targets

  • Monthly calls with Buyer partners to ensure buying needs

  • Bimonthly site visits to check-in on product movement

  • Pitch new merchandising and marketing campaigns to further drive sales at participating accounts

  • Secure new partnerships within targeted industry verticals

  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors and buyers

  • Provide on-going support for small business vendors

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of food & beverage business operations (bonus if you have foodservice sales experience)

  • Prior sales experience and understanding of storytelling/merchandising tactics to increase sales

  • Two or more years of demonstrated work experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively, think quickly and multitask, ensuring both internal and external stakeholders needs are met

  • Strong attention to organization and detail

  • Self-motivated, positive team player

  • Willingness to learn new things and the capacity to adapt to new situations

  • Passion for mission-driven work, the food and beverage industry and projects that support small business owners and underserved communities

Working with Cureate

  • Remote, flexible work schedule

  • Travel & mileage covered to Buyer partner accounts

  • You are a 1099 contractor, and this RFQ is for a 1-year contract at a base of $1,500 per month plus commission you drive from Cureate Connect sales with an option to renew

  • Cureators have achieved these deliverables between 2-4 hours/day, on a Monday-Friday schedule
